Orga Offshore will be launching its latest digital aids to navigation system at the Offshore Technology Conference 2014 (OTC 2014) at Reliant Park in Houston from 5–8 May.

A world leader in the design and manufacture of marine navigational aids, Orga’s next-generation offshore platform marking and warning system provides a robust, durable, highly capable and cost-effective digital solution for the demanding global offshore oil and gas industries.

Orga’s user-friendly touchscreen navaids central control panel (NCCP) sits at the heart of the new digital system. Its smart state-of-the-art modular design allows easy set up and maintenance while the touchscreen user interface enables full system interaction to control and monitor all Orga’s aids to navigation equipment.

The cutting-edge control panel can also be extended to integrate Orga’s new circle and H helideck touchdown, positioning and marking lighting system as well as its latest aviation obstruction light system.

Available for certified IECex and ATEX (Zone 1) and non-certified use, the NCCP has full alarm, history and remote status monitoring capabilities. Currently supplied with an RS-485 Modbus interface for digital communications, the system will support TCP/IP and web browser functions in the near future.

The scientifically designed digital NCCP, when used with Orga’s precision engineered, IALA and local authority-compliant, L410-range of LED energy efficient marine lanterns, gives customers a sustainable competitive advantage by reducing capital costs and total costs of ownership. In addition to the marine lights, the control panel is able to control and monitor other navigational aids equipment, such as foghorns, marine radar beacons (racon) in conjunction with visibility meters and photocells for automatic on/off control of the equipment during night time or poor visibility.

Marko Nieuwenhuize, Product Group Manager for Marine Aids to Navigation at Orga Offshore explains, “We see OTC as one of the major offshore oil and gas events in the world and we are very excited for this opportunity to bring our new digital navigational aid system to the American market.”

Nieuwenhuize continues, “Orga has a reputation for high quality, reliable, durable products and is renowned for its expertise in hazardous areas and other regulatory requirements in the harsh offshore environment. Major companies including Shell, BP, Total, Chevron, Gaz de France, Wintershall, Statoil, Maersk, Noble Drilling and Stena have already ordered this system in Europe.”

OTC 2014 takes place 5–8 May at Reliant Park, Houston, USA. Orga Offshore will be exhibiting on Booth 2241-J. Other Orga products on view at OTC 2014 include foghorns, visibility meters, marine radar beacons, helideck lighting (including circle and H) and, aeronautical obstruction lights and solar power supply systems.
