Orga systems can consist of a CIP controller. The CIP controller takes care of internal communication with, control of, and monitoring of, the other components in the Orga system. Internal communication within the Orga system between the CIP controller and the other system components is done via Orga’s proprietary ‘OrTalk’ bus protocol.

External communication to the system is done via Inputs and Output, Modbus protocol, or via a Human to Machine Interface (HMI).

The advantage of this setup is that it is not possible to access the Orga products other than the CIP as the OrTalk bus protocol is Orga proprietary and therefore not accessible. In case of a problem with the communication or system behavior it should be possible to determine if the problem is “to” the system or “inside” the system.
