Starting 1 January 2027, incandescent marine lights and their associated spare parts, including replacement incandescent lamps, will no longer be supplied by Orga. This development follows the global trend of phasing out outdated incandescent lighting in favour of modern, energy-efficient LED solutions that offer higher reliability and improved sustainability.

The shift marks an important step in modernising marine navigation technology. LED lighting has become the industry standard due to its long operational life, lower maintenance requirements, and enhanced performance under demanding environmental conditions, thus lowering cost of operation.

We strongly advise you to plan ahead for this transition. To ensure continued regulatory compliance, and operational reliability, we recommend one of the following solutions, depending on your system:

  1. Transition to LED Lanterns
Existing incandescent lanterns can be replaced with LED-based models, resulting in higher efficiency and reduced operational costs. A minor modification to the existing control panel is typically required to support the updated technology.
  2. Full Navaids System Upgrade
For installations seeking broader modernisation, a complete system upgrade, including the control panel, battery charger, and battery pack, enables the adoption of digital communication technologies. These systems provide enhanced remote monitoring, more detailed diagnostics, and improved operational control.
