It will not have escaped the attention of the residents of the Kaknästornet (Kaknäs Tower) area of Stockholm, that the light system on top of the Kaknästornet has vastly improved. This is because for the past few months Orga’s L500 High Intensity Obstacle lights have been marking this important television and radio transmission tower in the Swedish capital. Orga’s new Obstacle lights have been acknowledged as a huge improvement on the old system, which, because it lacked a light-control system, meant the lights burned permanently at the same intensity – day and night. Thanks to their high visibility and low light pollution, Orga’s Obstacle lights are charting a new industry course and showing the way ahead.

Orga’s expertise and proven track record in Obstruction light solutions, coupled with our in-house research and development department and manufacturing facilities, have allowed us to develop a state-of-the-art product that complies with the most stringent of national and international regulations. The high-tech design of Orga’s High intensity LED Obstruction light is part of our broad pioneering range of aviation Obstruction lighting. Thanks to the smart design and system-control technologies, it produces a highly accurate and uniform narrow beam – making it very environmentally friendly, not to mention extremely cost- and energy-efficient.

The Kaknästornet is one of the three highest towers in Sweden and is the hub of all the country’s television and radio transmissions. It also boasts a restaurant, observation deck and sky bar, all of which are open to visitors. The transmission tower, including the mast, soars 170 metres (560 feet) above Stockholm and its 155-metre (509-feet) observation deck offers a fantastic view of the city and its surroundings. The tower is owned by Swedish national broadcasting company, Teracom, one of Scandinavia’s leading radio and television operators.
